Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales Engineer)
As a sales team member, the Solutions Architect (Pre Sales Engineer) will be a dynamic and hardworking technical professional with experience in successfully selling disruptive solutions to the Media & Entertainment market. This individual must maintain high-performance levels and attention to detail through direct actions that drive revenue in alignment with Perifery‘s Go-to-Market strategy. This role is 100% focused on acquisition and building on our existing global footprint. The successful candidate will become part of a small but highly efficient new business team, providing techinical support during the sales process, leveraging their technical skills and customer experience to deliver results. You will be a go getter with a ‘can do‘ attitude‘ and bundles of energy and motivation that is capable of supporting the team effort but also happy to work autonomously. Experience in networking and building relationships on a technical level is critical along with having the neccessary media industry experience to understand challenges and solve problems.
Duties:
- To be capable of articulating Perifery’s value proposition and technical benefits to prospects across the territory
- To manage and support all aspects of technical product evaluations at prospect sites
- To conduct meetings and run technical presentations / demonstrations alongside sales
- To build out detailed deployment and workflow proposals based on customer requirements
- To act as a significant contributor and reviewer of RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs and own the technical content
- To partner with the Engineering team on installations, configuration and testing of database applications as well as test and performance tools and regular assessment of the quality of our services
- To act as a subject matter expert across the company
- To work closely with other Solution Architects to feedback product enhancements / feature requests and to help drive the product roadmap from the commercial side
- To create customer case studies, provide input to technical white papers and be present on technical webinars
- To represent Perifery at conferences, tradeshows, and other industry events
- Travel to meet with partners and prospects in the EMEA region
- To collaborate directly with end users, resellers and technical partners to accurately define workflows that solve M&E customer pain points
- An in-depth technical understanding of the media and entertainment industry
- A good knowledge of storage, especially NAS, SAN, and object storage in media workflows
- Technical knowledge of public cloud storage services and their advantages and disadvantages
- Work experience or knowledge of storage as a service / private cloud deployments (especially S3) required
- Hands-on experience with Linux system administration
- Demonstrated success driving business with enterprise customers including the ability to navigate complex organizational structures
- Setting up and running offline tradeshow demos using virtual machines
- Understanding of Project Management frameworks such as Scrum and associated tools
- Knowledge of M&E file-based workflows (Avid, Adobe, Telestream, Signiant, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of technical and non-technical people
- Sales focused with experience working towards targets and KPI’s
- Ability to network and build relationships
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science degree or equivalent experience)
- 6-10 years of successful M&E industry related experience
- 2-4 years of experience selling software and/or storage solutions
- 2-4 years experience in a Pre-Sales Engineer / Technical Sales role
- Proven ability to work on cross-functional teams
- Experience with Media & entertainment workflows
- Ability to communicate the difference between public cloud services, on-premise object storage, and hybrid cloud workflows
- Experience collaborating with partner teams to establish media and asset manager workflows
- Familiarity with the use of metadata in asset manager workflows
- Operating environments: Linux, Windows, Mac
- Additional languages skills preferred (French, Spanish, or German)
- Experince working towards KPI’s and targets
- Travel up to 25%
