FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., December 8, 2015
– DataCore, a leader in software-defined storage and hyperconverged virtual storage area network (SAN) solutions,
today announced that its SANsymphony™-V; is now certified by SAP to provide storage
virtualization for SAP-certified enterprise storage solutions that can be used by the SAP HANA® platform. DataCore SANsymphony-V is a storage
virtualization solution that operates across multiple vendors’ storage systems to help deliver the performance required by demanding enterprise-class
applications.
“Customers implementing SANsymphony-V with its adaptive caching and powerful parallel I/O capabilities can achieve the accelerated storage performance
needed to take full advantage of the real-time business benefits offered by SAP HANA,” said George Teixeira, president and CEO of DataCore Software.
“Certification of SANsymphony-V for use with SAP-certified enterprise storage solutions for SAP HANA can give IT organizations more confidence in their
choice among existing and new storage resources. With broader choice, they can better achieve their goals to seamlessly manage and scale their data storage
architectures and to deliver high performance for driving faster and more responsive applications.”
Customers that leverage the functionality and flexibility of SANsymphony-V with the SAP HANA platform for real-time computing can benefit from the
accelerated integration, reduced support requirements, and improved technical alignment that can result from choosing to use solutions that have been
tested and certified for integration.
DataCore SANsymphony-V storage virtualization is only SAP-certified when running on a separate compute node and used together with an SAP-certified storage
solution from Fujitsu, Huawei, IBM, Dell, NEC, Nimble Storage, Pure Storage, Fusion-io, Violin Memory, EMC, NetApp, HP or Hitachi. The certification is for
up to 16 nodes running SAP HANA on systems running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.
SAP HANA combines database, data processing, and application platform capabilities in-memory. The platform provides libraries for predictive, planning,
text processing, spatial and business analytics. By providing advanced capabilities, such as predictive text analytics, spatial processing and data
virtualization on the same architecture, SAP HANA further simplifies application development and processing across big-data sources and structures. SAP
HANA is a platform for building and deploying next-generation, real-time applications and analytics. DataCore’s SANsymphony-V software-defined storage
virtualization platform helps enable enterprises to fully utilize the advanced real-time capabilities of SAP HANA to operate the mission-critical business
applications that are at the heart of every major enterprise.
